Gold discoveries in the Eagle Valley district resulted
in the birth of a mining camp called Deerlodge in the mid 1890s.  Little is known about Deerlodge.
During World War Two, Deerlodge was a privately owned ranch.  Several family members are buired in
a nearby graveyard.  Although Deerlodge is unoccupied most of the time, the latest owner,
a Utah rancher, ocasionally checks the property and asks that no one remove anything or damage any
structures.
